ICAR organised Training cum Input distribution programme under NEC project

     ICAR-Research Complex for Arunachal Pradesh Centre, Basar and Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Namsai jointly organized one day programme on Pineapple sucker distribution on a focal theme “Approaches for doubling the farmers income - the road ahead for farmers prosperity” under NEC project at Juna IV village,  Namsai district  on 24.07.2019.

Emphasizing on strengthening the pineapple cultivation in the region to enhance the farmers’ income, Dr. H. Kalita, Joint Director, ICAR RC, AP Centre, Basar initiated this approach that helped to double-up the farmers’ income by 2022. In the technical session he detailed the farmers about the production technology of Pineapple along with pest and disease management.

      Col. Vikram Nalawade, 20 Madras Regiment, Chongkham expressed his concerns about the current situation of agriculture in the district with special reference to Namsai district and applauded the initiatives of ICAR-RC for NEH Region & KVK Namsai for organizing such event for the welfare of farmers in the region.

Shri Sudhir Vide, DHO, Namsai District emphasized on the different schemes of Horticulture to up lift the socio-economic condition of the farmers along with Shri S.K. Jawal, ADF, Namsai encouraged them for adoption of additional activities with their existing resources.

Dr. M. Kanwat, Sr. Sc. Cum Head, KVK, Namsai & Anjaw motivated the farmers to take more advantages from KVK Namsai and detailed them about the marketing system.

Forty two farmers actively participated the programme and the programme end with distribution of 1,03,000 pineapple sucker/slips (var. Kew) among them.
